Ryan White - Director/Producer/Editor/Cinematographer

Ryan WhiteBorn in Big Sur, California in 1979, Ryan White began making monster movies in the forest around his childhood home at age 9. In 2003, he graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Cinema, emphasis in Visual Anthropology. His student film, AFTER THE GOLD RUSH (2003) was an official selection of the Society for Visual Anthropology Film Festival 2004. From 2004 to 2007, Ryan lived in Hanoi, Vietnam where he worked for the WWF Greater Mekong Program as Film Advisor. During that time, he directed, filmed and edited 8 environmental awareness-raising documentaries for broadcast on Vietnam Television (VTV). Two of these videos were also screened in Europe, TRADING BEARS (2007) in Italy at the EcoVision International Festival of Environment and Cinema 2007, and A DELICATE BALANCE (2007) at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Other footage Ryan shot for WWF has been provided to the History Channel, National Geographic, Discovery, the European Union, Agence France - Presse, Popcorn Films, Channel 7, and 60 Minutes. Ryan is currently in Bangkok, Thailand working on his next feature, a documentary about bananas. CAMP UNITY is his first feature length documentary.
